Our Heritage, Our Story: The History of Aruba Aloe

For more than 135 years, Aruba Aloe has been rooted in the island of Aruba and the natural power of aloe vera. What began with a simple plant thriving under the Caribbean sun has grown into a globally recognized skincare brand known for high-quality aloe vera products.

From the beginning, the mission has been to harness the benefits of aloe vera from Aruba and transform it into skincare that nourishes, hydrates, and protects the skin.

The Beginning Since 1890

The story of Aruba Aloe began in 1890 when Cornelis Eman founded Aruba Aloe Balm N.V. and planted the first aloe fields in Hato, Aruba. Thanks to the island’s warm climate and dry conditions, aloe plants grew strong and rich in natural nutrients.

Today, Aruba Aloe is recognized as the oldest aloe company in the world, with more than a century of experience in cultivating and producing aloe-based skincare products.

Why Aloe from Aruba Is Special

Aruba offers the perfect environment for growing aloe vera. The warm sun, dry climate, and mineral-rich soil help the plants develop powerful natural properties.

For many years, aloe was one of Aruba’s most important natural resources and played a significant role in the island’s agricultural history.

From Plant to Product

A unique part of Aruba Aloe’s philosophy is controlling the entire process from plant to product. The aloe is grown, harvested, and processed on the island to ensure quality and freshness.

The leaves are hand-cut within hours after harvest to preserve the natural benefits of the aloe gel. This helps create skincare products that hydrate, soothe, and support healthy skin.

A Heritage That Continues

More than 135 years later, Aruba Aloe remains deeply connected to the island where the story began. The aloe fields and production facilities in Hato continue to reflect the brand’s commitment to quality and tradition.

Today, customers around the world enjoy Aruba Aloe products, but the roots of the brand remain firmly planted in Aruba. Aloe is more than an ingredient. It is the heritage, the expertise, and the story.
